Before we dive into the fun, let's identify the materials you’ll need for today's cards
.
Your favorite card stock colors and adhesive
When you think about the Autumn Artisan dies, you think of fall colors. But I'm here to show you how to stretch these dies into holiday cardmaking and more, simply by changing the colors of your cardstock.
Imagine crafting a card cut from deep evergreen card stock that mimics lush pine trees, or perhaps a soft cream representing the first snowfall. By simply swapping colors, you evoke the holiday season while maintaining the familiar shapes of fall dies.
In our first card, the Autumn Artisan dies were cut from two shades of green card stock along with red card stock. The backdrop of the Elongated Ovals A2 Cover Plate die with the white on white is the perfect setting for your bold leaf and berry dies. Add in a sentiment from the Alice's Story Autumn Memories stamp set and you have yourself the perfect card.
In this card, we have kept the same layout with the leaves and berries but changed up the sentiments. They are from the Express Delivery stamp set. The black gingham background from the Boo! paper pad was die cut using the largest die from the Layer It die set for a fun postage edge look. It is the perfect backdrop to really let the Autumn Artisan dies shine in this holiday card.
Both cards were embellished with a few Clear Dew Drops as final touches.
